TLC Childcare, Inc. was established in 2003 in Wauseon, Ohio, before starting out as a full-time daycare facility. Over the years, we have added a preschool as well as before and after-school care.  In 2014, we began calling our center: TLC Child Center

We are a Christian non-profit child center as an outreach mission of Trinity Lutheran Church. The TLC non-profit Board of Directors oversees the policies and procedures for the Center operations and implements the rules/laws set forth by the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Job and Family Services as a licensed child center.

About Us

Children learning hands-on

Our Center offers three distinct programs:

  1. All-Day Child Care (6:00 AM – 5:00 PM): Children are placed in age-appropriate classrooms and receive full-day care in a nurturing, structured environment.

  2. Preschool Program (8:45 AM – 11:30 AM): All-day classrooms follow a preschool educational curriculum during these hours. Additionally, some children are enrolled in our half-day Preschool Program, which runs from August through May. These children join the age-appropriate classroom during the preschool portion of the day.

  3. School-Age Program: This program serves children before and after school, as well as when school is on breaks for  conferences and teacher work days etc. as well as during the summer months when school is not in session

We understand the importance of providing a loving, clean, safe, and secure environment where children can learn and explore. Our educators are experienced and professionally trained with the desire to see children grow emotionally, socially, spiritually, physically, and academically. Our staff strives to provide high quality, competent care, and education for children, and they have worked hard to earn the Step Up To Quality Silver Rating from Ohio's Early Care and Education Quality Rating System.

TLC Child Center is under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors commissioned by Trinity Lutheran Church to operate a Lutheran not-for-profit extended care and preschool program for the community. We are members of ELEA (Evangelical Lutheran Education Association).

Our Lutheran school of the ELEA provides a rigorous academic curriculum that integrates Christian studies, faith formation, and values. As professionals, Lutheran school administrators and educators continually seek to achieve best practices and instructional methods.
